Sjöboden – our new seaside suite – is designed for two guests. An archipelago dream where the sea is your closest neighbour. 

 

Built entirely in wood with handcrafted details, it’s inspired by Käringön’s traditional boathouses, yet created for modern comfort and calm. To one side you have the breathtaking view of the Käringö Fjord, to the other the vibrant life of the harbour just a few steps away. You are truly in the heart of genuine archipelago life.

 

Upstairs, the luxurious bedroom reveals its exposed beams and two small balconies – one for morning coffee in the sun, and one for an evening drink as the sun sets over the sea.

 

On the ground floor, you’ll find a bathroom, a traditional-style kitchen and a dining room that leads down two steps to the living area – almost five metres high – the perfect place to relax after a day on the island or at sea.

 

Everywhere you turn, there is a view of the water.

Around the house, small terraces offer places to sit in sun or shade, with panoramic views no matter the wind direction. A small saltwater pool in stainless steel is built into the deck, which we are happy to heat for you.
A set of steps leads down to the kayak jetty, the sauna, and the clear sea below.

 

Breakfast is served on the pier outside, and in the evening you can enjoy a private seafood dinner in Sjöboden, or dine at Petersons Krog or Simsons Prästgård – two of the west coast’s most celebrated restaurants. Or perhaps stay close and enjoy an evening at Lotshotellet’s own Crêperie.

For guests wishing to share the experience with family or close friends, we have hidden a few extra beds on the ground floor. Sjöboden can then accommodate up to six guests, while maintaining its sense of privacy and peace.

Transfer to and from Käringön is arranged with our boat Granit, which takes you directly to the pier outside the house.

Booking and availability

Sjöboden is available for private stays from June 2026.
Each reservation is handled personally by us to ensure that your experience is exactly as you wish –
from transfer by Granit to breakfast by the pier and dinner arrangements.
